Self Cleaning Bird Bath

The bird baths are set up for the bathing season. Each with it’s own timer and drip tube or hose. Set to drip 3 times a day, each time for 5 to 10 minutes, long enough to fill the bath and then spill out. The churned water cleans and then spills into a large shrub bed, conveniently providing the water needs for that bed through summer and fall.

The birds love the fresh water and begin to bathe as soon as the water flows, and I love the convenience of not having to clean and fill the baths daily.

Five Robins splashing together. Dainty Hummingbirds dipping in and out of the stream. Always a Chick-a-Dee or two are sailing the bowl. Western Tanagers and Nuthatches are coming, too.
